THE PRESENTATION OF ILIP’S NEW PRODUCTS AT FRUIT LOGISTICA 2012

The manufacturer of rigid thermoformed plastic packaging for fruit and vegetables presented its new business strategy in Berlin and enjoyed promising meetings with customers and business partners alike

BOLOGNA (February 16th 2012) – ILIP, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of rigid thermoformed plastic packaging materials for food items, welcomed the positive feedback that it received at the 2012 edition of Fruit Logistica, the leading international exhibition dedicated to fruits and vegetables, which wrapped up in Berlin on February 10th.

With an innovative stand designed to communicate the values of the company’s new corporate strategy (tradition, innovation, a special bond with the territory and social responsibility), ILIP met with its business partners and customers, strengthening relationships and laying the foundations for the development of new projects.

“Fruit Logistica provides a meeting place for the entire global supply chain for the fruits and vegetables industry,” commented Roberto Zanichelli, marketing manager for ILIP. “For this reason, we were able to enjoy a number of interesting meetings, particularly with suppliers who share our goal of providing customers with solutions of increasingly high added value.”

Fruit Logistica also served as the perfect venue from which to showcase the company’s new strategic positioning. 50 years following its establishment, ILIP has decided to expand upon its wealth of experience, tradition and commitment to innovation by launching a program for expansion, in terms of management and technology. The ultimate goal is to provide high-quality, sustainable solutions, of exceptional added value, and to be perceived and recognized as a preferred partner by customers and suppliers alike. It’s a vision that’s summed up in the tag line “Passion for packaging”, which was used for the first time at the Fruit Logistica fair itself as a brand communication strategy.

A key component of this new strategy also focuses on the business’s social and environmental responsibilities. In addition to using environmentally-friendly and compostable materials, the company has also decided to expand upon its concept of environmental responsibility, aiming to provide efficient plastic packaging materials that will reduce waste along the supply chain and will improve convenience and safety for the final consumer.

With regard to the products themselves, Fruit Logistica served as an occasion for the company to showcase its new “TS” range of ILIP R-Pet punnets for packaging fragile products like berries and tomatoes. These new containers offer exceptional resistance and perfect machineability, while providing the products themselves with maximum visibility and excellent ventilation.
