ILIP AT FRUIT ATTRACTION 2026: FRESH PRODUCE PACKAGING IN THE NEW EUROPEAN LANDSCAPE

From protecting the most delicate fruit to the T2T R-PET® circular model, ILIP will be in Madrid with its Fresh Produce Packaging range, combining performance, eco-design and the use of recycled material.

Valsamoggia (BO), 16 September 2026 – From 6 to 8 October, ILIP will be taking part in Fruit Attraction 2026 (Madrid, Stand B21 – Hall 9), one of the leading international events for the fresh produce supply chain. The company will present its range of packaging for fresh fruit and vegetables, continuing its long-standing commitment to circularity, reducing resource use and maintaining high performance.

This commitment is particularly relevant today in light of the changing European packaging landscape, as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) enters the implementation phase and the supply chain begins preparing for new targets for recyclability, packaging reduction and the use of recycled material.

A key focus for ILIP at the fair will be its solutions for most delicate fruit, including the AirWave range of R-PET punnets. Designed to protect products such as cherry tomatoes, grapes, berries, berries and cherries, the punnets feature a special base geometry that absorbs shocks during transport and in-store display, without the need for micro-bubble or cellulose inserts. Alongside AirWave, ILIP will present its range of heat-sealable R-PET punnets and punnets with lids or hinged lids, designed to meet different packaging requirements and the needs of international markets.

Long recognised as a key feature of ILIP’s approach to sustainability, T2T R-PET® (tray to tray) is a practical example of the circular economy model developed within the ILPA Group, of which ILIP is part. Thanks to its vertically integrated recycling process, ILIP can use secondary raw materials obtained not only from bottles, but also from post-consumer punnets and trays, to produce new R-PET food packaging, ensuring quality and traceability throughout the process. Today, ILIP’s R-PET packaging contains an average of around 80% recycled material, reflecting the company’s long-standing efforts to reduce the use of virgin raw materials and make greater use of post-consumer materials.

Fruit Attraction will also provide an opportunity to present ILIP’s ability to work alongside growers and packers in the development of bespoke packaging through SPRINT, its department dedicated to designing new products that meet specific requirements in terms of produce, production lines and markets.  “Fruit Attraction is an important opportunity for us to engage with an international supply chain that is undergoing significant change”, comments Gianluca Tamagnini, Business Unit Manager Fresh Produce Packaging at ILIP. “For years, we have worked to combine product protection and packaging performance with reduced resource use, recyclability and the use of recycled raw materials. T2T R-PET®, together with Eco-Design and the development of solutions increasingly tailored to our customers’ needs, is a practical demonstration of this approach”.

The ILIP sales team will be at Fruit Attraction from 6 to 8 October 2026 in Madrid, Stand B21 – Hall 9.
