THE COMPANY
The History
ILIP was created in 1962 in Savignano sul Panaro (MO), in the centre of an area with strong agricultural and mechanical traditions. Since its creation the firm has specialized in the design and manufacture of plastic packaging for fruit, enlarging every year both the product range and the commercial network. In order to enhance expansion, it became necessary after ten years to move operations to a 30,000 indoors-square-metre area in Bazzano (BO), at the Via Castelfranco 52 plant. In 1975 the first extruder was introduced, a tool to transform the plastic polymers into easily workable sheets. In 1976, the disposable products line was inaugurated with the production of trays for foodstuffs and by 1984, this product group had grown to include disposable dishes, plates, glasses and cutlery. Aiming at wider and constant growth in the market, in 1990, ILIP joined forces with the MP3 firm to form the I.L.P.A. group and to this day the two divisions mantain their own autonomy.
In 1998 the Via Muzza Spadetta 38 , Bazzano plant of 47.000 indoors square-metre-area was added to the production capabilities of the original plant.
The passion for innovation and the constant research on materials lead ILIP to new and important goals. In the year 2002 the production of PET began and in the same year new products made of eco-compatible and 100% biodegradable plastic materials were developed. Nowadays ILIP is widespread over the whole of Italy and in more than 50 countries worldwide, being the main reference for the Retail and for the ho.re.ca.department to provide finished products both made of traditional plastic materials (PS polystyrene, PP polypropylene and PET terephthalate polythylene), as well as bioplastics (PLA Polyactide).
