ILIP EXPANDS ITS FRESH FOOD PACKAGING RANGE WITH NEW FOOD PACKAGING SOLUTIONS
At Cibus Tec 2026, taking place from 27 to 30 October at Fiere di Parma (Hall 2 – Stand E020), the company will present the latest developments in its HeatSealingMaster, StretchMaster and SliceMaster ranges, including new formats and technologies for managing exudates. These solutions are designed to combine food protection, production efficiency and responsible resource use.
Valsamoggia (Bologna, Italy), 20 October 2026 – An innovative tray bottom with integrated mechanical absorption and new formats to meet the different packaging requirements of fresh food are among the main innovations ILIP will present at Cibus Tec 2026. ILIP, a company of the ILPA Group specialising in food packaging, will focus on developments in the HeatSealingMaster and StretchMaster ranges, alongside the SliceMaster line.
These innovations are part of a development path aimed at combining technical performance and sustainability through solutions designed to protect food, ensure reliability on packaging lines and use resources more efficiently. This approach is based on Eco-Design principles, whereby reducing the amount of raw material used and incorporating recycled materials must go hand in hand with maintaining the required performance.
The HeatSealingMaster range is a key focus. It comprises heat-sealable trays for fresh food packaging, including modified-atmosphere packaging (MAP). Available in Evo, made from monomaterial PET; Duo, made from PET/PE; and Bio, made from compostable bioplastic certified to EN 13432, the range introduces the new Macrocell bottom. Designed for applications requiring a high capacity for containing exudates, Macrocell is available in MT230 and MT250 formats. It complements Microcell technology, available in the Evo and Duo versions. Both systems integrate mechanical absorption into the tray bottom, capturing and retaining exudates without the need for a conventional absorbent pad. The new M230 8-Hamburger and 1/2 Gastro formats further expand the range’s applications.
The StretchMaster range is also expanding. Designed for automatic packaging lines using stretch film or flow pack, it now includes a new 195 × 144 mm format. Available in monomaterial PET with a high recycled content and in compostable bioplastic, the Evo version can incorporate the Microcell bottom.
The SliceMaster line completes the offering with heat-sealable trays featuring an m R-PET/EVOH/PE barrier structure for packaging cold cuts and sliced products in a modified atmosphere. Together, the three ranges provide packaging solutions for meat, sliced products, fish, cheese and fresh pasta.
“In food packaging, sustainability cannot be separated from performance,” says Giovanni Donini, Business Manager Foodservice Packaging & Fresh Food Packaging at ILIP. “Reducing a tray’s weight or increasing its recycled material content only makes sense if the product continues to deliver the required levels of safety, preservation and reliability on packaging lines. That is why we work to optimise materials and structures, with the aim of using resources more efficiently without compromising packaging functionality.”
The T2T R-PET® (tray-to-tray) circular model developed within the ILPA Group plays a central role in this approach. Thanks to the Group’s vertically integrated recycling operations, ILIP can use secondary raw material derived not only from bottles but also from post-consumer trays and punnets to produce new R-PET food packaging. This process gives recovered materials a new use and reduces reliance on virgin raw materials, while ensuring quality and traceability. Today, ILIP’s R-PET packaging contains an average of approximately 80% recycled material.
Meet ILIP from 27 to 30 October 2026 at Fiere di Parma, Hall 2 – Stand E020.
